Isaac Fraikue

Mr. Isaac Fraikue is a Chief Budget Analyst at the Ministry of Finance. He acquired a Bachelor of Arts Economics and Geography from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 1993, a post graduate Diploma in Urban Management from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS), Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Holland in 2002. Mr. Isaac Fraikue later obtained Master of Arts Degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana in 2006.

Mr. Isaac Fraikue has vast working experience with Local Governments in the Greater Accra Region from 1993 to June 2011.

Mr. Fraikue was the consultant for the Local Government Capacity Support Project at the Ministry of Finance between 2011 to 2012 where he helped with the establishment of the Fiscal Decentralization Unit, provided orientation to staff of the Fiscal Decentralization Unit on the Local Government Financial Management System, established a reliable Situational Database on Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) Budgeting Systems, Revenue Mobilization System, and the roll out of the Composite Budgeting System to the MMDAs.

Between 2013 and 2021, he was the Schedule Officer for the Ministry of Education and later the Sector Head for the Public Safety Sector where he provided advice and guidance on budgetary allocation, utilization of funds and on drawing limits for the Ministries under the Public Safety Sector.

Prior to becoming the Ag. Director of Budget, he held the position of Group Head for Budget Development and Implementation from April 2021 to January 2024 where he helped to shape policies on budget development and implementation.
