Abena Osei Asare

Hon. Abena Osei-Asare currently serves as the Minister of State  at the Finance Ministry of Ghana. She has previously held the position of Deputy Minister for Finance for two terms, initially focusing on Budgeting and later taking responsibility for Revenue.

Hon. Abena Osei-Asare is also in her third term as a Member of Parliament for the Atiwa East Constituency, a position she has occupied since 2013. During her terms in Parliament, she has been an active member of the Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises Committee, as well as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

In addition to her legislative work, Hon. Osei-Asare has served on several public boards and committees, and she continues to contribute her expertise to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GAIDEC), Agriculture Development Bank (ADB), and Exim Bank Ghana. She also holds significant roles as a member of the Economic Committee of the Cabinet and as the Chairman of the Ghana.gov Implementation Steering Committee.

On the labour front, Hon. Osei-Asare has been a formidable force, especially in the realms of labour negotiations and conflict resolutions. She has led numerous national labour negotiations and conflict resolution efforts on behalf of the Minister of Finance.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Abena Osei-Asare brings with her a wealth of experience from the banking sector. Her professional journey includes tenures at Barclays Bank Ghana and New York University prior to her roles in public service.

Hon. Osei-Asare is a passionate advocate for human welfare and is dedicated to improving systems and processes to enhance productivity and maximize opportunities.
