The strategic role of the Division is to conduct economic analysis and research as well as provide policy advice on matters relating to macro-fiscal policies. The Division supports the Ministry’s mandate through the provision of timely and high-quality data, research, macro- fiscal analysis, as well as policy advice.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES:
In line with this Ministry’s overarching goal of formulating and implementing sound macro-fiscal policies, the Division is guided by the following strategic objectives:
- Undertake comprehensive macro-fiscal policy analysis & forecasting and provide advice for effective economic management and fiscal planning;
- Provide robust fiscal risks analysis and mitigation measures;
- Conduct research on relevant economic issues affecting the economy; and
- Undertake economic analysis on global developments/outlook and on regional economic integration;
FUNCTIONS:
To achieve these strategic objectives, the Division undertakes the following key functions:
- Undertake macro-fiscal policy analysis and provide policy advise;
- Provide robust fiscal risks analysis and mitigation measures
- Undertake macroeconomic analysis on global developments/outlook and on regional economic integration;
- Conduct policy research on relevant economic issues affecting the economy;
- Produce relevant reports on the economy; and
- Disseminate information on relevant macro-fiscal issues.

- Inputs on Macroeconomic Performance/Outlook into Budget Guidelines, Mid-Year Review/Supplementary Budget, Budget Statement, and other relevant documents of the Ministry;
