Accra, 14th November 2024 – The Ministry of Finance has out doored a state-of-the-art reception area to cater for clients of the Ministry. Designed with the citizens needs in mind, the new space combines comfort, efficiency, and warmth, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.
From improved seating and clear signage to a streamlined layout for more efficient service, every aspect of the reception has been crafted to enhance convenience and accessibility. It has LED screens displaying economic and finance information.
The refurbished reception area features a digital check-in system and modernized seating to improve customer experience. The facility also includes full accessibility features for persons with disabilities, ensuring that all visitors can navigate the space with ease.
Dr. Evans Aggrey Darko, Head of Civil Service, in a keynote address, noted that the new reception area was not just a functional space but a symbol of the Service commitment to building strong, trust-based relationships with the public and stakeholders.
“We recognize that first impressions matter, especially in public service, and this space now fully embodies our commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to all who step through our doors. By prioritizing a well-organized, inviting, and professional environment, the reception area mirrors the Ministry’s core values and dedication to service excellence.”
He noted further that the reception sets the tone for interactions, communicating a message of respect, accessibility and professionalism and encouraged other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to emulate MoF as ‘first impressions matter,’ especially in the public service.
“I would like to take this opportunity to encourage other Ministries and Departments to invest in creating clean, organized, and professional environments that reflect the values of public service.”
He charged the management and staff of MoF to prioritize regular maintenance and cleanliness as a well-maintained space does not only support health and safety but also demonstrates respect for visitors as well as reinforces commitment to high standards and inspires a culture of professionalism.
Dr. Stephen Amoah, (MP), a Deputy Minister for Finance in an address on behalf of sector Minister Dr Amin Adam, (MP), emphasized that the renovations were an important step in realizing the government's goal of enhancing public sector efficiency.
“This new reception area reflects the government’s commitment to improving the way we serve the people. It is not just about aesthetics, but about creating a functional, modern, and user-friendly space that facilitates ease of access and interaction for all who visit the Ministry of Finance," he said
He highlighted the importance of enhancing the infrastructure and environment of government institutions, making them more accessible and welcoming to the people they serve. He said the refurbished reception area reflects the ministry's values and dedication to excellence, professionalism, and respect for the role it plays in Ghana's financial landscape.
Welcoming guests and staff to the ceremony, Ms. Eva Esselba Mends, Chief Director of MoF, stated that by refurbishing the reception area, the Ministry of Finance had demonstrated its commitment to providing top-notch service to its clients, setting a positive tone for interactions, and reinforcing its dedication to excellence.
"It is a great honor to welcome you all to this newly renovated reception area, which reflects our dedication to creating a more efficient and customer-friendly environment for both our staff and the public," Ms. Mends stated.
She noted that this transformation is not only about improving the physical space, but also enhancing the way the Ministry interacts with the citizens of Ghana who visit daily and expressed the confidence that the reception will significantly improve the overall experience for all who walk through these doors.
The official opening of the reception is expected to set a benchmark for other government institutions looking to modernize their facilities and improve the quality of services provided to the public.
