ISSUANCE CALENDAR FOR GOVERNMENT OF GHANA SECURITIES: JULY - DECEMBER, 2015

The Ministry of Finance working together with the Bank of Ghana, announces for the information of Primary Dealers, Banks, Brokers, the Genera! Public and all prospective investors in the domestic securities market, the Issuance Calendar for Government of Ghana Securities for the period July - December 2015.

Real Sector Division (RSD)
Mandate of RSD
The RSD derives its mandate from the Mission Statement of MOF, which mandate is to initiate, formulate, implement, and monitor policies and programmes towards the achievement of the desired growth of the economy of Ghana and poverty reduction by using highly motivated, competent and disciplined staff. 
 
The RSD measures the impact of real sector developments on growth, in particular, and the macro economy in general.
 
PRESS STATEMENT ON THE ISSUE OF MEDIUM- TO-LONG DATED GOVERNMENT SECURITIES

Over the years, Government has been using Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) auction process to issue all of its debt instruments. These are the 91 and 182 day Treasury Bills, 1- and 2-year notes, and the 3-, 5- and 7-year fixed rate bonds. Therefore unlike the other countries, GOG does not use the stock exchange for new issues even though they are listed after the issue

“Subject to market conditions, the Republic of Ghana intends to issue a 5 year Treasury Bonds during the month of August for a total size up to GHS500 million. The Bonds will be governed by Ghanaian law and listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange. These Bonds

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NREC) Unit
Mandate of NREC: 
 
The Unit oversees, coordinates and manages financing of and support to natural resources, and climate change and green economy activities. 
 
Further, the Unit is established to coordinate all forms of support (domestic and international) to climate-change-related activities in Ghana. This is to avoid potential overlaps and potential duplication of efforts and above all to distribute resources to where they are most needed.
