The Board, which is chaired by Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, has the CEO of the Exim Bank, Mr. Lawrence Agyinsam; Mr. Ofotsu A. Tetteh-Kujorjie; Mr. Robert N.K.O. Ahomka-Lindsay; Dr. Johnson P. Inaugurating the Board, Hon. Kwarteng stated that the vision of His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is to make Ghana’s economy an export led one and thereby change the structure of the economy, hence, the Flagship programme dubbed, “One District-One-Factory”.

“This concept is geared towards providing social economic development at the local level; provide the needed jobs for the rural folks and also stem the rural-urban drift, amongst others” he indicated.

Hon. Kwarteng stressed that His Excellency the President expects the Board to come out with prudent policies and programmes that will ensure that exporters are well resourced to finance exportable products and services so that the nation can reap appreciable foreign exchange from the sector.

He charged the Board and the Bank to specifically focus on the non-traditional export products such as poultry, cassava, cashew, oil palm and pharmaceuticals, which have the potential to facilitate export trade and enhance socio-economic development.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, on behalf of the Members, pledged to ensure that their mandate was effectively undertaken to ensure that export revenue drive, employment generation and cross border facilitation was enhanced.

He expressed optimism that the Ghana Exim Bank will explore, maintain and deepen business relationships with other Exim banks across the world, especially the Indian Exim Bank, the China Exim Bank and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank). Issued by the Public Relations Unit.
