SIGNING CEREMONY KUMASI ROADS AND DRAINAGE EXTENSION PROJECT

June 28, 2016    In the presence of H. E. François Pujolas, the French Ambassador to Ghana, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) signed the Credit Facility Agreement for the Kumasi Roads and Drainage Extension Project, with the Government of Ghana, on 28th June 2016. The Agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Seth Terkper and Xavier Muron, AFD’s Deputy Resident Manager.

Guidelines for the Preparation of the 2017 - 2019 Budget

The Ghana Shared Growth and Development Agenda (GSGDA II), 2014 - 2017 will continue to be the broad framework for the preparation of the 2017 - 2019 Budget.

However given that the GSGDA officially ends in 2017, estimates for 2018 and 2019 financial years will be indicative and should cover activities that cannot be implemented within the GSGDA II period and have to be rolled over.

INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME STATEMENT

  1. I wish to  welcome you our distinguished  guests to Ghana. Ghana is a beacon of democracy, an interactive investment destination, and a country with a welcoming and genuinely hospitable environment. As we say in one of our local dialects “Akwaaba”, which means “welcome”.

It is a distinct honor to be invited to give an open remarks and it is also a privilege for Ghana to be hosting the IMF’s  International Seminar for Tax Policy and Administration for its Topical Trust Fund (TPA-TTF) beneficiary countries. Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen, permit me to  thank the organizers , the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF for creating the platform for continuous dialogue in this important area of fiscal management.
ISSUANCE CALENDAR FOR JUNE AND THIRD QUARTER, 2016

The issuance calendar for the first half of 2016 was developed in line with the MTDS that specifies the aggregate amounts to be raised by instrument in the period.
 

Note that for the month of June 2016, Government plans to issue an amount of GHȼ3,970.00 million to rollover a forecast maturities of GH¢3,816.76 million, with the remaining amount of GH¢153.24 million being a fresh issuance to meet Government’s financing requirements.

Ghana, Switzerland Sign Project Grant Agreements

An official signing ceremony took place today at the Ministry of Finance between Ghana and Switzerland on a project grant agreement totaling US$15.3 million.
 
The Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Gerhard Brugger signed on behalf of the SWISS Government and the Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. Mona Quartey signed on behalf of Ghana.
 
The grants are the Domestic Revenue Mobilization Project (US$6.5 million); Remittance Grant Facility (US$2.6 million) and the Ghana Urban Mobility and Accessibility Project (US$6 million).

Switzerland and Ghana deepen partnership for inclusive and sustainable growth with USD 15.3 million in project grants

On June 7 the Swiss Government and the Government of Ghana signed three agreements worth USD 15.3 million in project grants for the years 2016 to 2022. The projects will support the Government of Ghana in strengthening domestic revenue mobilization, addressing the challenges of urban mobility and deepening financial inclusion. These projects underscore Switzerland’s continued commitment to support Ghana to foster inclusive and sustainable growth.
